The Gentleman – Missax Films – Director – Missax – Cast – Mona Wales, Bree Daniels, Lacy Lennon, Kira Noir, Zac Wild, Chad White and Kristen Scott
****1/2 stars
This release peaked my curiosity when it came in, so I gave it a quick look. But after just a few minutes of jumping around different scenes, I was convinced this needed a full review. To begin with Zac Wild does a tour de force performance as the central character in this film. It is filled with frightening flashbacks here and there that play into the storyline of this mysterious gentleman. As the story moves along taking in different time frames we find out he is a sexual predator who comes off to his females as a suave gentleman. However, that is just a ruse with him, as is his dog, a beautiful Golden Retriever, to gain the confidence of the women he meets.
The first woman he meets is Mona Wales who comes to her friend Susan’s house in the dead of winter for a planned visit. But it is Zac who answers the door saying that her friend had to leave unexpectedly. He invites her in, smooth talks her, tells her to stay and just relax and enjoy the house. Mona is a very nervous, very private woman with problems of her own and isn’t sure how to react to this man. But between the friendly dog, his convincing and polite ways she agrees to stay. He tells her to take a hot shower and get some rest and he will have dinner ready later. She agrees and we see her in the shower, and what a beautiful sight, Then while she sleeps he sneaks into the room to look her over leans in close, but doesn’t touch and then leaves the room. There is a flashback of Zac pulling a large garbage bag out in the snow towards the woods, and then back to real time. They have dinner but Mona is still nervous and afraid to open up but he continues to convince her she is no problem staying at the house and he will make her feel at home. Before long she gives in after an evening out and they engage in a very intense sexual encounter in the living room where Mona shy, introverted self turns into a complete sexual animal leaving him totally exhausted and filled with wonder about her.
Now it is six months later and he meets a new neighbor, Bree Daniels and pretty much the same thing takes place except for one detail, she is married. But her husband is away and she makes it very clear, with all his sweet talk, that she only wants Zac for a sexual experience to feel what it’s like without her husband and of course she finds out in another heart pounding, exhaustive sexual encounter. It is springtime now and here comes another new neighbor, Lacy Lennon with a gift basket. It is here that the tables get turned big time on Zac. Lacy tells him she knows all about him, his women and what he has done. She also shows him in no uncertain terms, that she is the one who is in charge now, not him. There is a lot more that takes place with these two and another couple Chad and Kira get added to the mix creating even more problems. The twists and turns continue right until the very end of this gripping tale of a predator and what happens when the unexpected comes his way from another just like him.
It is gripping, hard edged drama buoyed by a terrific cast, Zac Wild has the look and manner of his character perfect and turns in a solid performance. Mona Wales shines as the shy, troubled, introverted house guest, Bree Daniels delivers another fine performance as a wife wanting more in a very believable way. Chad White and Kira Noir execute their roles with total realism, but is Lacy Lennon who commands the screen with her portrayal of Zac’s worst nightmare. She is simply and devastatingly exceptional. The sexual encounters are very, very forceful and intense revealing the power one can hold. The settings, locale and backgrounds add to the overall production. The cinematography gives the viewer a very close up look with superb visuals enhancing this storyline.
If you are looking for a really good, spine tingling, edge of your seat drama, then “The Gentleman” is one to get a hold of. It has some very award worthy performances and will keep you entertained throughout. Enjoy.
