Winner of our 2019 NightMoves First Choice award, this is the debut production from director/writer Shawn Alff. Alff, who was a writer for Creative Loafing in Tampa, Fl. and a part of our NightMoves Adult Awards shows every year has created a very erotic thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat. Since he headed to L.A., Alff learned the ropes under the tutelage of award winning director/writer Jacky St. James and it has all paid off with this sparkling debut we were proud to give our First Choice award to.
This has a great black and white film noir style opening with the credits. We see Whitney changing clothes after her shift at work talking to her boyfriend on the phone. Unbeknown to him she has an outside affair going with a gangster (Marcus London) and she is on her way to see him. She needs a little loan and he can’t turn her down. But then with those looks and body plus her sexual talents who could. So of course when she gets to his place and they talk and she sees the money they get in to it hot and heavy. Right after they are done and she is getting ready to leave he has a heart attack and dies. She grabs the case with the money and heads home. Just as she is putting the case with the money in hiding her boyfriend (Zavc Wild) comes in. He discovers the bag wants to know how she got the money.
They have a falling out, Zac blows her off and leaves but he has his own ideas about stealing the money from Whitney. That’s where his other girlfriend (Gianna Dior) comes into the picture. Now Whitney is desperate and doesn‘t know what to do, so she meets up with another male friend (Nathan Bronson) and of course that leads to more sex for Whitney, but things are only going to get worse for her. It seems that a police detective (Silvia Saige) and an FBI agent (Tommy Gunn) are working on a case together and trying figure out a solution. Turns out the case they are on has to do with the stolen money from Marcus’ place. Once Whitney gets wind of what is going on and she looks like a prime suspect things really get interesting in more ways than one.
Shawn has fashioned a very intricate plot in the story and it will keep you guessing throughout as far as the final outcome and what happens to Whitney. I could definitely tell you more, but why spoil it for you. I will say there are three more sex scenes in the film and in one of them you will be very surprised to see who Whitney shares this encounter with. Like I said, it will keep you guessing throughout and that is part of the enjoyment of this well constructed film.
Alff brought together a very solid, believable cast of performers who really bring their characters to life. The music, lighting and settings all add into the reality of the film. The writing is crisp, very believable and the cast all show off some excellent acting chops to bring plenty of realism to the production. The five sex scenes that are integrated into the storyline offer up plenty of steam and sizzle. This is definitely a great night at home film for couples to cuddle up with in the evening and enjoy all of the action in and out of the bedroom. We certainly recommend getting hold of “What We Do For Money” from Sweet Sinner. Congrats Shawn we are looking forward to your next big film.
