Over the past few years the MILF craze has become a very popular genre in the industry. When you think back to the golden age of porn in the ’70′s there was one name that stood out and was the first true MILF on the porn scene. Her name was Juliet Anderson, who became much better known as “Aunt Peg” who began her porn career at the age of 40!
Judith Carr was born in Burbank, California on July 23, 1938. Her father was a jazz trumpet player and her mother a nurse. As a young girl she was saddled with both childhood arthritis and Crohn’s Disease and would spend a large part of her growing up years in the hospital or on bed rest. Still, she graduated from high school in 1956 with a straight-A average. After school she moved to Japan with her lover who was in the Navy and they were married briefly. That came to an end in 1964 and for the next thirteen years did various jobs that included being a teaching assistant in kindergarten and high school, and English as a Second Language teacher, and working as a radio journalist in Finland. Fact is Ms. Carr was an accredited English teacher in Europe before returning to the states in the ‘70’s.
She did a little modeling and the suggestion was made that she should give porn a try. Being mature, smart, sexual and blessed with very elegant, classy, yet sexy looks she decided to give it a try. She began, as many did back then, by doing “loops” in New York City. From there it was full length features and a whole new career was born for the now newly named Juliet Anderson. The “Aunt Peg” tag came from a throw away line in a threeway scene she was in with John Holmes and Sharon Kane. The director seized on it and the ”Aunt Peg” series of porn films was born and would go on to become huge hits. In addition to those features, Ms. Anderson also had key roles in the film classics, “Taboo 1 and 2”, “Talk Dirty to Me” and other big hits of the era. Not only did she bring an elegant and mature look to adult, but sexually she was showing, even back then, that age is only a number and that older woman could be very sexual and desirable. To top all that off she also possessed some very natural and excellent acting chops.
Now in her mid to late 40’s and still a popular star, Juliet decided to go behind the cameras and into production and directing. After a short time behind the scenes Ms. Anderson decided the time had come to settle down and be a devoted wife to her husband Arthur. While everything was going well in her private life she got the itch again and in 1998 she returned to the industry with the full blessings of her husband to create, write, produce and direct a series called “Ageless Desire”. This was a series that would feature real life couples over the age of 50 along with her and her husband. The series was designed to show that older couples could, and do, enjoy sex to the fullest and it was beautifully captured. After doing a couple of these films, she again retired and turned to writing several well received articles on the industry. With a large fan base that still exists today, Ms. Anderson was still in demand for awards shows and signings, looking as classy, elegant and sexy as ever.
In 2009, Ms. Anderson announced she was returning to produce some new films, while continuing her excellent and well respected work as a relationships counselor for couples. Unfortunately the film plans she had worked on to bring to the adult public never came to pass. On January 11, 2010, still suffering from Crohn’s Disease, Juliet Anderson passed away at her home in Berkley, California at the age of 71. Ms. Anderson is a member of both the AVN and XRCO Halls of Fame and many of her films, as well as the “Aunt Peg” series of films have been re issued on DVD and are readily available today. Juliet Anderson set quite a standard back then and opened the door for other older, more mature women to come through. She was a true pioneer in the industry, so be sure you checvk out some of her great films from the golden age, you will be very impressed by this very special lady, Ms. Juliet Anderson.,
