She was born in Los Angeles in 1949 and not much is known regarding her childhood. What is known is that Cyndee Summers got an early start in porn. She began in the early 70’s doing short film loops and graduated to full features from there. While she may not have been one of the major names of porn’s golden age, she made a lasting impression during her time in the business.

She was a tall, very busty natural redhead with a curvaceous body, jiggle butt and round, firm natural breasts. With this lady it was all her, all real and very inviting. Cyndee made a very striking vision when she entered a room. She had that look of the horny housewife whose husband had just left town on business. It was the kind of look that said, “I want it, take me now.” It was that look, the red hair and her terrific body that caught producers and director’s eyes when it came to getting this very sexy lady into doing porn.

She had very discriminating taste when it came to the movies she would appear in. That was one of the reasons why she would only appeared in about 25 films throughout her fifteen years in the business. She was not one just in it for the money and willing to do any kind of film. Despite that she was loved by directors and performers for being a class act who was a tireless, energetic, totally professional performer on the set. Her love for sex was virtually unmatched along with her enthusiasm and her scenes were always the real deal.

Even though she didn’t do many films, they were all winners. Films like “House of Pleasures”, “For Services Rendered”, “Letters of Love” and “Older Women with Young Boys” There were also two that are considered Cyndee’s very best. One as the lesbian jail boss in “Desperate Women” and her terrific role as the returning deep throat champion “Stiff Competition”, a film we have reviewed on our Porn Classics Revisited” feature. She proved in that film what had been long known, that being considered as one of the very best oralists in the business. There was also never any question about the professionalism she lent to those films she appeared in as it shone through in every scene.

Ms. Summers left the industry for good in the late 1980’s. In 2009 she passed away at the age of 60, the cause still unknown. She is a member of the XRCO Hall of Fame in the Film Pioneer category. With many of the films from the golden age now available on DVD, I suggest looking for some of Cyndee Summers titles. She was a tremendous performer who always gave 100% and it showed in every performance.

While she may not have been one of the biggest “superstar” names in porn’s early days, Cyndee Summers was most definitely a very important part of those good old days of porn. Her presence, that look and her steamy sexuality was always something very special to look forward to.
