Jane Esther Hamilton was born on October 27, 1956 in Las Vegas. She came from a middle class family and her dad worked at the atom bomb test site outside Las Vegas. Jane did all her schooling in Las Vegas as well and was very active in high school. Sex and the enjoyment it provided came at age 15. She had a few flings and became sexually active because it was a way of getting accepted. Jane was the school’s head cheerleader, took up dance becoming very accomplished and taking part in several school productions.

After graduation Jane went to the U. of Nevada where she majored in theater. She graduated at 19 , performed in some theater projects, but made the big decision to move to England where she stayed for three years working as a model. In 1979 her modeling career got sidetracked due to accident with a coffee urn when hot coffee got spilled on her. She spent the next couple of months in the hospital recovering with some severe burns and scars.

She returned to the states and moved to New York to try and get her acting career going but a series of promises fell through, so to pay the rent she worked as a secretary. Through the man she rented her apartment from, Roy Stewart, with whom she had an affair, she got introduced to the world of porn. Her first thought was because of the scars on her body it wasn’t for her and she wouldn’t be able to handle it. But Stewart convinced her that with her acting resume, looks and love for sex, she would be fine and do quite well. Jane’s heritage of English, Irish and Scottish gave her a sparkling look to go along with a terrific body the camera loved.

So she decided to give it a try with no promises and it would turn out to be a life changing experience for her. Before she did her first film Jane went and did a few live sex shows to see how audiences would react to her and her appearance. As no surprise they were all very positive. Now her worries about her body disappeared and opened up the door to her porn career.

In 1980 Jane took on her new name, Veronica Hart, and made her adult debut in the film “Fascination”. What also worked for her was this was at a time when plot and story were as important as the sex in an adult film. Being a trained and accomplished actress who could deliver lines and be totally realistic, plus her voracious sexual appetite instantly made Veronica Hart something quite special. That realism has been backed up by her male co stars over the years who reveled in her performances.

After that debut Ms. Hart would go on to make a name for herself in films like “Amanda By Night”, “Wanda Whips Wall Street”, “Roommates”, “Ascent of Heather” and many others that have become porn classics. During her career, because of her acting skill, she would win several Best Actress awards along the way for her realistic and explosive performances. When Ms. Hart stopped performing in the mid 80′s she turned to directing films, becoming one of the industry’s first female directors. Her talents behind the camera has been recognized with a number of directing nominations for films like “White Lightning”, “Taken”, “Crime and Passion” among them.

Again, because of her acting ability, Ms. Hart would also land some mainstream roles. She played the judge in “Boogie Nights” and appeared in the hit film “Magnolia”. She also would make several TV appearances on shows like “Six feet Under”, “Simon & Simon” and “Airwolf” among them. Throughout her career, she often would also use her real name, Jane Hamilton in her films.

In recent years Ms. Hart has remained pretty much behind the scenes but has, on occasion, taken on small non sex cameo roles in several films. Most recently she appeared in Wicked Pictures “Camgirl”. Semi retired would best describe her today, as she still keeps her finger in the adult pie so to speak. In addition to her nominations and awards she has received for her acting and directing, Ms. Hart is also a deserving member of the AVN and XRCO Halls of Fame, the Legends of Erotica and the Hustler Walk of Fame in Hollywood. In 2014 she also went to China as a sex educator through an arrangement with a chain of adult retail stores and clubs called Sediva Maison.

Today at a young 65, Veronica Hart still looks great, has a great attitude and is just an all around down to earth, real person.
