(Los Angeles, CA / September 26, 2023) — Michael Vegas’ mainstream thriller The Nanny is getting the red carpet treatment this Saturday, September 30 at the Glendale International Film Festival (GIFF), where the Tubeman Entertainment feature film, directed and written by Brian Reynolds, will screen at the Laemmle Glendale theater.
Vegas, who worked on the independently produced California production as the cinematographer and lighting technician, will be on hand at the GIFF screening to promote the film about a young Finnish woman (Georgia Gould), who becomes entangled in a family’s delicate affairs when she accepts a caretaking role for a couple’s (Adam Lee Kitchen and Angela Sauer) newborn.
“After a successful screening at the Independent Filmmakers Showcase in May and the Silicon Beach Film Festival in Hollywood earlier this month, I’m excited at the prospect of sharing this film with fans and industry players that have an appreciation for creative filmmaking that draws you in and holds you tight as the story plays out,” said Vegas. ‘I’m so proud of this movie and it’s such a thrill to see people enjoying it at these screenings.”
A bona fide hit on the festival circuit, The Nanny clinched the coveted Best Director award at the Brighton Rocks International Film Festival earlier this year and has earned numerous other accolades at film festivals spanning North America and the United Kingdom.
Reflecting on his involvement on the project, Vegas added, “Filming The Nanny was my first venture into crafting an entire film from start to finish, and watching Brian Reynolds work during that month in a remote cabin in Temecula was inspiring, to say the least. Creating a suspenseful thriller isn’t as easy as Brian makes it look, and the accolades for this film are well deserved. I urge everyone to come out and experience it for themselves!”
The Nanny will screen at 4:30 pm on Saturday, September 30th in Auditorium 4 of the Laemmle Glendale. Tickets are only $15 and available via Glendale International Film Festival; Vegas asks that attendees please arrive at least 10 minutes early.
