The Final Four of the NCAA tourney is tomorrow, March 31. So far it has been one of the most exciting and unpredictable tourney’s in recent memory with one surprise after another. There is no reason to think that won’t continue in these final two games that will decide who plays for the National Championship on Monday April 2.
With that in mind we thought it would be interesting to list a few of the celebrities who were graduates of each of the Final Four schools. Some you will no doubt know, but some of the names may surprise you. So here we go.
MICHIGAN – Tom Brady, Madonna, Gerald Ford, Derek Jeter, Gilda Radner, James Earl Jones, Iggy Pop, Clarence Darrow are just a few of the many ion all fields who went to Michigan.
KANSAS – Kirstie Alley, Don Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain, Bob Dole, Scott Bakula, Gayle Sayers are some of the recognizable names that attended and graduated from the U. of Kansas.
VILLANOVA – Howie Long, Jill Biden, Steve McQueen, Al Gore, Jim Croce, Paul Arizin, Jackie Coogan are some of the celebrity graduates of Villanova over the years.
LOYOLA-CHICAGO – Bob Newhart and believe it or not, that is the only “big” name celeb that comes from that school. Of course we could add Sister Jean. She has definitely become a world wide celebrity because of her connection to the team and their Cinderella story.
At any rate, those are just some of the celebrities and well known names of graduates from the four schools. We wish them all good luck in the final Four and the Championship game could have another first. If it turns out to be Loyola vs. Villanova it will mark the first time two Catholic schools will be facing each other in the NCAA championship game. Can the dream continue for Loyola all the way to hoisting the championship trophy on Monday evening? We will find out beginning tomorrow when they take on Michigan.
