The decade of the 1980’s promised to be one of big advancements for the future, good times, new horizons, better living and a lot more. So let’s travel back thirty six years and see what you remember from the year 1981?
As always we begin with the cost of living. The average price for a new 3 bedroom home was $78,000 while the average yearly income was a whopping $21,000. The average cost of a new car was around $7,000 and a gallon of gas had jumped all the way up to $1.25. A dozen eggs cost 90 cents, turkey was 55 cents a pound, a first class stamp was just 18 cents. When it came to things for the home, a Tandy TRS 80 PC1 was $149.95, a 19 inch color TV cost $400 and for the kitchen an under the counter dishwasher was $250. Among the big news stories in the U.S. and the world…………..Former movie actor Ronald Reagan is elected President. There was the first flight of the Space Shuttle Columbia, a historical time for the future of space. The first test tube baby is born. It is also the first time we begin to hear the word Internet and MS-DOS was released by Microsoft along with the first IBM PC. Air traffic controllers go on strike causing chaos in the US and President Reagan fires them. It was also back in 1981 that Iran releases 52 American hostages, who had been held for 444 days. Sandra Day O’Connor is nominated to become the first female justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. Lady Diana Spencer marries Charles, Prince of Wales. In 1981 the Star Wars Figure Set is the big toy item along with the Clash of the Titans action figures (what are they worth today?).
In the world of entertainment the big Hollywood movies for 1981 included Raiders of the Lost Ark, Arthur, The Cannonball Run and For Your Eyes Only. In pop music the big names include Diana Ross & Lionel Ritchie, Dolly Parton, John Lennon, Michael Jackson and Queen. Some of the hit TV shows from 1981 were Dallas, The Love Boat, Hart to Hart, The Jefferson’s and The Dukes of Hazard. Among the celebrities we lost in 1981 were boxer Joe Louis, singer Harry Chapin, actor Richard Boone, rock and roll star Bill Haley, actor William Holden, actress Natalie Wood and porn star Tina Russell.
In the world of porn the year saw new technological advances enhancing film making. Some productions are still based in New York, but a big shift to the west coast is taking place. Linda Lovelace’s book “Ordeal” about the porn industry comes out. There are some excellent adult films released like the one we take a look back at today, “Bad Girls”.
Bad Girls – VCX – Directors – David Frazer and Svetlana – Cast – Anna Ventura, Pia Snow, Victoria Knoll, Lee Carroll, Sylvia Benedict, Desiree West, Lenora Bruce, Lisa Lang, John Leslie, Randy West, Ron Jeremy, Richard Pacheco, Mike Ranger, Kevin James, John Handler, Michael Snow, others.
This is one of those somewhat forgotten gems of porn’s golden age that was put together by the team of Svetlana and David Frazer who had a few other successes back then, including the sequel to this film. While the female stars are not household names to porn aficionados, they are at the top of their game in this fun romp that has both a decent story line and plot and a lot of sex that comes at the right times in this film.
The story revolves around four models (Victoria Knoll, Anne Ventura, Lenora Bruce and Pia Snow) who decide to hop in their RV and take a trip up to the mountains for some photo shoots and fun. It opens with Victoria doing a photo shoot for Richard Pacheco and once the shoot is done Pacheco wants some action so we get the first sex scene, short but solid. Soon all the girls are together and on their way. As they drive the road, they pick up a teen Boy Scout and not only give him a ride, but also tease the hell out of him in the RV before they drop him off. It’s a pretty funny scene watching the girls tease him and his reactions. Once they get to their destination things begin to take on some strange, but very sexy situations.
There is the scene where Lenora decides to take a hike in the woods and she comes across John Leslie engaged in a three way. She watches what takes place getting turned on, Leslie sees her but continues his romp with the two girls as Lenora takes off. Meantime Pia and Anna go for a late swim and wind up having some fun time with each other when Ron Jeremy, looking svelte and trim back then, shows up and they decide to leave, but Ron will show up later. Lenora goes back to the woods searching for Leslie. He spots her and doesn’t waste time giving her what she wants. But it is after this quick encounter that things start to get a little strange for the girls. The Judge, an S &M guru played by Mike Feline, has the four girls captured and brought to his lair in the woods. They are instructed to watch Randy West getting blow jobs as their first act of obedience as his new slaves. Around watching also are a collection of almost naked girls.
Then comes a big twist in the story as Ron Jeremy is out for revenge and was the one who plotted the capture of the girls. Why? It turns out the young scout the girls teased in the RV then dumped on the side of the road is Jeremy’s kid brother. So he takes on Anna Ventura in the cell she was put in and tells her do whatever he says for her own good. There is a lot more that takes place in this film now that the reason for the kidnapping is known. But there is one more very surprising twist to the story involving Jeremy that comes at the end of the film.
Overall the acting is a mix of good and bad, Jeremy extremely good in his role. The camera work, visuals and the on location settings fit in very well adding to the overall realism. The way the story evolves is nicely written and performed. There are a lot of sex scenes, some very short and to the point at the right times to enhance the story line. All the girls in this production were not only sexy and good looking, but they were all natural, no fake boobs, bush, real bodies and plenty of real sexuality.
As we mentioned earlier this is one film from the golden age that is somewhat forgotten, but it is available on DVD and I recommend getting hold of “Bad Girls”. Be sure you check this classic film out, it is well worth viewing.
