BOSTON – Porn-for-women site Sssh.com has received five nominations for the 2016 XBIZ Awards, including Adult Site of the Year in the For-Women category and three nominations tied to Gone, the studio’s most ambitious movie release to date.
In addition to Gone being nominated for Couples-Themed Release of the Year, first-time performers Madeline Blue and Gee Richards received nominations for Best Actress and Best Actor in a Couples-Themed Release, as well.
“It’s always an honor to be nominated for the XBIZ Awards, but this year I’m especially proud to receive multiple nominations for Gone,” said Angie Rowntree, owner, founder and primary filmmaker for Sssh.com. “The performances given by Madeline and Gee were the foundation from which everything else about the movie flowed, so I’m very happy to see them get the recognition they earned with their amazing, heartfelt work.”
Sssh.com also received a nomination for “Adult Site of the Year For Women”, a new XBIZ Award category Rowntree said she’s thrilled to see established.
“Having a category specifically for porn-for-women is a huge; it speaks to the industry’s growing recognition women are an important part of the fan base,” Rowntree said. “This category confirms the growth in female viewership and at the same time, recognizes Sssh and other porn-for-women sites are doing something different, something new and exciting for the adult entertainment market. It’s great to be nominated as part of the first group of producers eligible for this award, as it’s so perfectly in tune with who we at Sssh.com are and what we do.”
Sssh.com also picked up a nod for Marketing Campaign of the Year, shared with social media marketing firm 7 Veils Media – whose CEO, Lauren MacEwan, has also been nominated for Marketing Executive of the Year.
“Lauren and 7 Veils have done an outstanding job working with us, contributing ideas and strategies which have really helped Sssh communicate and promote our brand to everybody, from our most committed fans to social media users who might never have heard about us without Lauren’s dedication and hard work,” Rowntree said.
Gone relates the story of Rebecca and Todd Adams, whose tale of love and loss is greatly enhanced not only by the on-screen chemistry shared by Blue and Richards, but by the fact the plot is largely based on the true story of a Sssh.com member who shared her experiences and emotional life journey with Rowntree through a series of emails.
Between the heartbreaking foundation of the story and the fine performances turned in by Blue and Richards, Gone covers territory very unusual for an adult film. Reviewer Rich Moreland lauded it as “perhaps the most significant porn film this reviewer has ever seen.”
