Agustin Alanis of Riverview, Florida is a bit eccentric. He is a BIG fan of Marvels’ Avenger franchise … I mean a real, real, real BIG fan. Agustin has seen “Avengers: Endgame” 130 times and he’s not done yet! He is trying to break the Guinness World Record for “Most Viewings of a Film in Theaters” and the record for “Most Viewing Hours of a Single Film in Theaters”. A man in Wisconsin has seen “Captain Marvel” 150 times. Agustin’s goal is to reach 200 screenings!
Agustin says, “I go twice a day on weekdays and more than that on weekends. The most I’ve gone is five times because it’s a 3-hour movie! Since it’s the last chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe saga I just kept going”.
Agustin is 31 years old and works 10-12 hour days at his family’s construction company. He goes to numerous Comic Cons across the country and always wears a bright yellow Mexican Tigres soccer team jersey. He was given the nickname of El Tigre Vengador … the Tiger Avenger … by real-life Avenger Anthony Mackie who plays Falcon in the films.
I like movies but I’ve never seen a film more than twice in a theater (I’ve watched a few numerous times on TV but not in a theater). I could not image watching the same movie 130 times … that’s crazy! I hope Agustin has an AMC discount card and loves popcorn.
The average Floridian spends $273 per year on lottery tickets. That number includes Powerball to daily numbers to scratch offs and everything in-between. That equates to about $5.8-billion dollars in sales! The national average is $219 per year. North Dakota residents spend the least at $34 per year and people from Massachusetts leads the pack with an average lottery expenditure of $737 per person!
The biggest fast food chain in the USA is McDonalds who does $38.52-billion in sales. Starbucks ranks second with $20.49-billion and Chick-fil-A is a surprising third with $10.46-billion. Chick-fil-A passed Taco Bell, Wendy’s, Burger King, KFC and Subway in this latest survey. Aging baby-boomers are eating out less often averaging 240 restaurant meals per capita, per year but Chick-fil-A saw double-digit growth with the number item sold being their amazing waffle french fries!
