(Los Angeles, CA / April 24, 2019) — Shameless Sex, a weekly podcast of unbridled, unscripted and uncut conversations about sex-positive issues in the modern world, is hosting a ‘Self-Pleasure 30-Day Challenge’ on its Instagram page @shamelesssexpodcast in celebration of Masturbation May 2019.
Throughout the month of May (the Challenge runs through May 30th), Shameless Sex moderators April Lampert and Amy Baldwin are inviting everyone to participate in self-pleasure for a minimum of ten minutes a day only using their hand/s (no porn or toys).
“Every ten days we will ask participants to send an anonymous photo of themselves – much like we did for our ‘Female Sexuality Myth and Shame-busting’ IG campaign – where they hold up a sign over their faces written with ten words or less, describing your week’s experience,” said Lampert of the liberating experiment.
“The intention is to highlight the power of self-pleasuring as a self-care practice that can lead to deeper connection to one’s body/sexuality, as well as open up the doors for new and more pleasure.”
Those who join in the ‘Self-Pleasure 30-Day Challenge’ will be entered into a special raffle, with a grand prize on offer of a Hot Octopuss Duo, Uberlube, access to OMGyes, access to our online workshop, a session with a Sexological Bodyworker – an over $1000 retail value.

“We want to de-stigmatize masturbation – plenty of folks continue to have shame around it, and it’s not a surprise, as our understanding is that it’s old definition was ‘to soil one’s self with their own hand’,” said Lampert.
“This is ridiculous, considering that what happens for folks with a healthy masturbation practice is often quite the opposite: They generally have more profound sexual satisfaction, feelings of empowerment and overall aliveness!”
