Interim Executive Director Kira Manser Named Clinical Director of The CSPH’s Growing Therapy Program!
PAWTUCKET, Rhode Island (January 4, 2017) – The Board of Directors for The Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health (http://www.thecsph.org) is delighted to announce Kayla Wingert has assumed the role of Executive Director. Wingert has been transitioning into this role since September 2016, and the Board is confident that she will move the organization forward and work in service of its mission, values, and strategic priorities.
A graduate of Johnson & Wales University, where she studied Meeting and Event Management and concentrated in Sociology, Kayla Wingert started with The CSPH as an intern in the fall of 2013. She then served as the Event & Outreach Coordinator, then Development Director, presenting events like ‘Sticky Stories’ and ‘Queer Porn Night’ to the local community. Wingert has also worked on campus at Johnson & Wales’ Gender Equity Center, and as an event intern at the Midwest’s largest LGBTQ community center, ‘Center on Halsted.’ A Point Foundation Scholar, Wingert has spoken at the annual World AIDS Day event at both the Rhode Island Statehouse and the Rhode Island AIDS Walk.
“I transition into the role of Executive Director overwhelmed with gratitude, and with renewed and enthusiastic commitment to supporting an organization whose mission in which I believe so passionately,” says Wingert.
Kira Manser, who was Interim Executive Director since August 2015, will step into the role of Clinical Director, directing the organization in the implementation of The CSPH’s growing Therapy Program.
Continues Wingert, “I want to thank the Board for the faith they have put in me, as well as Kira Manser for her tireless work, which I look forward to building upon in continuing to advance The CSPH’s mission of providing culturally inclusive, medically accurate, and pleasure-informed sexuality education. I have every confidence our Therapy Program will continue to blossom in her very capable hands.”
Founded in February 2010, The CSPH is an educational organization that works to reduce sexual shame, elevate comprehensive sexuality education and support the growth of the sexuality field. The CSPH provides sex-positive sexuality education and cultural dialogue through a wide variety of programming, including workshops, performances, counseling, and events for community members; practical skill-building events and classes for emerging and experienced professionals; and presentations for hospitals, medical organizations and at national conferences.
