Jessica Van Meir co-founded MintStars, a fansite and payment platform that serves adult content creators with an emphasis on giving them greater control over their businesses.

Van Meir is also working toward a PhD in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. Her doctoral research is focused on the rights of sex workers in Latin America.

Her advocacy work includes co-founding the Boston Sex Workers and Allies Collective, which supports the full decriminalization of sex work in Massachusetts.

Prior to MintStars, Van Meir worked with a feminist law firm representing victims in cases involving sexual harassment, sex trafficking, and image-based sexual abuse.

MintStars gives adult creators access to subscriptions, tipping, chat, and a marketplace for content sales. The platform charges creators no fees and provides immediate payouts and chargeback protections, while allowing a comparatively broad range of content.

MintStars recently launched a program that places 20% of the company in the hands of its content creators. The co-ownership structure allows creators to earn a share of the platform’s profits through their participation and contributions.

Van Meir’s MintStars co-founder has also spun off MintCash as a standalone payments company. MintCash offers an integrated system covering pay-ins, treasury, and payouts for businesses that frequently face high costs or limited options from other providers.
