Manson Family
(Hollywood, CA) Adult director Will Ryder has announced that after clearing some legal hurdles, he is prepared to release his Charles Manson porn movie Manson Family XXX on DVD. The title is set to arrive on DVD June 23 from Will Ryder Productions, distributed by Pulse. Coincidentally, NBC Television is releasing their 13 episode series on the Manson cult in a project called Aquarius with the first airing May 28th.

 

Ryder thinks both projects that chronicle the life of the Manson Family will promote each other.  “We show everything in our movie; the insane appetite for drugs and sex and I’m sure NBC would show all of that if they could but they can’t so they stick to the detective work, but either way the release of both of these projects will generate interest in one another,” Ryder remarked.

 

The director known mostly for his X-Rated comedies and musicals is convinced people are more intrigued about Charles Manson than ever before and are curious about the hippie love and intense sexual acts that took place at the Spahn Ranch near Los Angeles back in the late 1960s. “We actually shot much of our movie on that very land,” Ryder offered.

 

Manson Family XXX has been a lightning rod for criticism, including this story on TMZ and as Ryder points out, the NBC television series starring David Duchovny also garnered condemnation. Duchovny, who plays an LAPD detective, said of the series, “This is a touchy subject but one that continues to capture the attention of audiences,” the actor offered.  When told of the Manson Family XXX porn movie, Duchovny smiled and said “I heard,” and walked away.

“The timing couldn’t be more perfect and we’ve had to put the brakes on this release for a while now due to certain legal challenges that I don’t want to talk about but NBC is paving the way for us to have a summer blockbuster,” remarked Ryder from his Hollywood office.

 

Manson Family XXX will be released June 23rd by Will Ryder Productions.  Aquarius debuts May 28th.
