****1/2 stars

This week we are going back into the NightMoves Vault to pull out one of the films I reviewed some 25 years ago, back in 1998. It stars Jenna Jameson, who at that time was at the height of her success and popularity as one of the most recognized faces in adult. Of course we all know what has happened in the years since. Be that as it may, Ms. Jameson was a commanding figure on the screen and her huge successful films for Wicked are among some of the best of all time, which most definitely includes this one.

Remember also that this film came out when VHS was still popular, but in 2008 Wicked released a DVD version of this film and added in some more bonus sex scenes and a lot of commentary from those connected with the film. Ir was nominated for a number of awards by AVN and it is a classic piece of porn history. It is also interesting to note that from this huge cast of over two dozen people only Brad Armstrong is still performing and directing and Jonathan Morgan now runs NeXXXt Level Talent with Andre Madness.

In so many ways this film comes off like a big time mainstream production. Set in an actual firehouse in downtown L.A. with all the equipment, fire engines and more giving the film immediate authenticity. Then there is the story line, or lines as there are couple of interweaving stories in this epic production. The acting and delivering of the dialogue is way above par as many in this huge cast really showed off some acting skills. Then there are the spectacular special effect and eye popping pyrotechnics that really add a huge blast of reality to this production. Watching Jenna and the others working through these blazing scenes was something to see. There are tears, the funeral scene at the beginning of the film for one of their fallen comrades is beautifully done and filmed and you will need the Kleenex. The rooftop scene trying to prevent someone from jumping is also a heart stopper as it is done on the top of a real building in downtown, not some studio lot. Then there is the sex that takes place and plenty of it does. There are seven sex scenes in the original release and they cover everything from boy/girl, girl/girl, orgies and a lot more.  As she was during that mid nineties time, Jenna was on top of her game sexually and other wise. Missy and Johnni Black also did some real hard wood performances as well when it came to the sexual sequences. Trust me when I tell you there is more than  enough sexual hi jinx to get you “up”. There is some edge of your seat, heart stopping drama, and one of the sequences with Jenna going through a fire as the building collapses around her will have you holding your breath.  Add in even more with more fires, jumpers, funerals and the problems in their own lives, this fire station crew takes us on quite journey.

I said in that review that Armstrong raised the bar on porn films with all the trappings of a mainstream production and the best was yet to come. Now here we are in 2023 and Armstrong has amassed over 200 directing credits, plus over 500 acting credits and a roomful of awards from every organization in the adult industry. I could fill an entire page just with the incredible films he has created, directed and performed in over the past twenty five years plus. Suffice to say “Flashpoint” is just one of his “must see” films. Do yourself a favor and get hold of the special 2 disc DVD set from Wicked Pictures. To this day it continues to get critical acclaim. It will be well worth your time and will provide you with some incredible visuals, searing, sizzling sex and a talented, professional cast of performers. “Flashpoint” is definitely a porn classic that must be seen.
