***** 5 stars
It’s been one hell of a year for writer/director Kay Brandt with hit after hit, awards, accolades and more all coming her way and very well deserved. This is another work based on best selling author Selena Kitt’s novel, Heidi and the Kaiser. Ms. Brandt has taken this strong work and adapted it to the adult screen in very vivid fashion. Putting together a top notch cast along with the very emotional, life changing story line this will have viewers totally entranced in the characters and wondering what comes next.
The film centers around the eager, but inexperienced Heidi, played perfectly by Whitney Wright, who has a bottom rung job at a top fashion company and her boss Warren Kaiser, Ryan Driller in another top notch role. While there other important characters in the film that play into the story and plot, it is Wright and Driller who makes this production become a visual piece of art. Taking the written word and giving it a visual tapestry is not always easy but Ms. Brandt pulls it off beautifully scene after scene to bring the pages to life.
It is a long movie as it clocks in at three hours plus. But with a number of intricate parts as the story unfolds and the various characters emerge it was necessary to build this story rather than shorten it and take away from the overall theme. Despite the length it will hold your interest, spark your own curiosities and keep you entranced by what goes on and how it all develops between the main characters. As we see Heidi’s job is rather menial and not what she really had expected and botching up a coffee order on a photo shoot is just another mishap. However, when she does get to meet the boss things begin to change. He is taken with her and feels that she might just be what he needs in more ways than one. On the other hand the looks and demeanor from Heidi are obvious and you know they will connect. When he offers her a job to be his personal assistant she cannot believe he really wants her, but she feels this is a way to prove herself. But with offer there is a catch. Up to this time we get to see Heidi’s character begin to undergo changes as Ms. Brandt’s direction allows for some major character development in line with telling the story and nothing is rushed.
When Warren makes the offer she is taken by it but being naive there are some things she still does not understand. He tells her he will e-mail her a contract and tells her she should read it fully before signing it. She gets the contract reads it, signs it and this begins Heidi’s move into a totally new and different world with Warren. Now he is not only her boss, but will become her mentor as she is going to find out about a sexual side of herself, and Warren, she was not aware of and how it would totally change her as a woman.
There are six sex scenes in the film, three of them with Warren and Heidi and all different as she experiences these new found ways of pleasure. It is quite something to see the changes that take place with Heidi in these three scenes. The first is fairly simple and well done as she is eased into the things that will become her world. By the second encounter she now dresses different, has a new hairstyle and new look and her sexuality undergoes major changes. Then by their third scene together she has transformed into a woman who is now totally provocative, compelling and explosive in the ways she has been trained to be. The one big thing that makes the union between these two work so well, considering the BDSM theme, is the chemistry. Make no mistake, the chemistry between Whitney and Ryan was totally the real deal and made their scenes even more realistic and believable. Watching this change and how it develops is brilliantly done. The other three sex scenes (two with Romi Rain including a very hot threesome)) play into the story in a very vivid way. We could go on about the world of Heidi and Warren and all that transpires, but I don’t want to spoil it for you. So I am going to leave the rest strictly up to you to take in, view and appreciate as well as be entertained by. Again, there is so much that takes place and putting the written word from this novel into the visual realm was quite an undertaking. Once again Ms.Brandt has created a breathtaking canvas that tells a beautiful story that the viewer will be taken by.
The cast is simply impeccable and once again Whitney Wright shows why she has become such an in demand performer and actress. Ryan Driller is his usual total pro as an actor and performer. I want to give a big shout out to Romi Rain who is incredible sexually but continues to impress more and more as an actress in her role as a designer who plays both sides in the corporate world and has a major supporting story line role in this film. The rest of the cast execute their roles well lending a lot of believability to their scenes. The cinematography is exquisite with great care taken to get the right angles, feeling and nuances throughout and in the process creating some outstanding visuals of what is taking place. There is no question in my mind this compelling adaptation will be up for a number of very well deserved nominations, and wins, from AVN and XBIZ at their awards shows in January.
If you are looking for a great couples film to enjoy look no further. Mark down a special night, then get hold of “The Seduction of Heidi” and get ready to have your sexual senses taken to a different world. This 2 disc set is adult entertainment at its best with everything you could ask for in an adult film, plus some great behind the Scenes extras and more. Once again Kay Brandt has hit a grand slam with this masterful production.
