Love in the Digital Age” – New Sensations – Director – Jacky St. James – Cast – Gia Page, Kenna James, Mona Wales, Logan Pierce, Tyler Nixon, Marcus London, Small Hands

Once again the multi faceted and award winning writer/director Jacky St. James, scores with a very stylish, up to date, today film. The title says it all in this story of people so caught up in the world of technology that it creates a certain vacuum in their lives. For some it even will harbor secrets that could ruin whatever new paths their life may take. Known for her very sexual dramas that have covered a wide array of subjects, Ms. St. James brings out her humorous side with this sex comedy that many viewers will be able to relate to.

In this story Sara (Gia Page) is a millennial who has an obsession with her smart phone and the internet. Sound familiar? It has really taken a toll on her, though she really can’t see it as others like her BFF Lizzie (Kenna James) does. So she takes a dare to give up all her internet time, smart phone, etc. and look at life and love in the real world. In addition we have Sara’s ex (Tyler Nixon) who thinks he is a big internet star and is all about himself. This is where the real fun begins not only for her but also for her mother Janine (Mona Wales) who is just the opposite when it comes to the internet, apps, technology, etc. That sound familiar too? Add into the mix Grif (Logan Pierce) a successful professional who wants to have a serious relationship with Sara. However, there is a dark side he is hiding and doesn’t want to have discovered.

As for Janine she does get to meet her hopeful Mr. Right (Marcus London) through a dating app. This has some fun elements to it as Janine tries to understand this techno world and how it works. Once she meets her date though all turns out well. As for Sara and grif there is a lot at play with the two of them but they do come to realize that the real world is a lot more enjoyable than all the messing around on smart phones, app, websites and such will ever be. Adding to the overall situation is Small Hands who is one very mysterious character who may have a lot more to do with a couples happiness and future.

There are four sex scenes in the film with a plenty of steam and sizzle taking place. I really enjoyed how the Mona Wales/Marcus London encounter came about and how it was structured for two older people discovering passion together. I also enjoyed the opening with all of the things that make up apps, phone pics, etc. and the narratives along the way from the players. The music was well done and very fitting and again, Ms. St. James casting was spot on and her directing very styled, fluid and well paced. Adding to the overall theme are a couple of twists and turns that add some drama to the proceedings. This is a well done feature wrapped around people’s obsession with technology. It is another award worthy effort from Ms. St. James. If you want a good sex comedy with a few surprises, steamy sex and all around adult entertainment, then I suggest getting “Love in the Digital Age” from New Sensations.
