A lot of people don’t gamble and stay away from one of the best places on the planet, Las Vegas. They think unless you gamble and can afford the high ticket prices for shows, Vegas isn’t the place to go and enjoy yourself. They couldn’t be more wrong! There are a lot of things to see and do in Las Vegas that are either free or very cheap. They will make your stay a worthwhile, enjoyable and fun experience.

Here are some ideas that will cost you nothing or are very cheap.

NOSTALGIA STREET RODS TOURS – The exhibit takes up four garages and covers automobiles and trucks from 1910 through the 1960’s. The price is just $20 for this  grand tour. You can go Monday through Friday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.Weekends are by appointment only.

DOWNTOWN CONTAINER PARK – This is an open air mall. It’s free and there is live entertainment and an interactive park for kids with a treehouse. Also on the main stage are bands and other entertainment. They also show movies and have other things to enjoy at the park.

BELLAGIO CONSERVATORY AND BOTANICAL GARDENS – This is a 14,000 square foot section off the hotel’s main lobby that is maintained by a staff of 120 people. The colorful and meticulous display of flowers, shrubs, plants, etc. rotate with the seasons. It is free and beautiful sight to see in Las Vegas.

THE FLAMINGO’S WILDLIFE HABITAT – This is also free of charge and open to the public daily. Here you will find 15 acres filled with exotic birds, fish, turtles, a flock Chilean flamingos and much more. If you like things connected with nature and wild life this is an interesting visit.

BELLAGIO FOUNTAIN SHOW – This display of these performing fountains choreographed and set to music with special lighting and incredible visuals is one of the best free attractions on the strip. Shows are every 30 minutes between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. daily and then every 15 minutes from 8 p.m. till midnight.

ETHEL M. CHOCLATE FACTORY – The tours are free where visitors can watch the chocolatiers making peanut brittle and various kinds of chocolates by hand. You will even get samples during the tour.They also offer chocolate tasting classes that are just $15 for adults and  $6 for children.

FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE & LIGHT SHOW – There are street artists, kiosks and a lot more, but it is the free light show that will have you in awe. It is a 1.500 foot long canopy 90 feet above the street that projects high resolution imagery, concert hall sound and 12.5 million LED lights. The various shows last about six minutes and run every hour from 6 p.m. till 1 a.m.

THE NEON MUSEUM – This is a bit of nostalgia and remembering the Las Vegas of yesteryear. The guided one hour tour covers over 2 acres of the boneyard where all the old neon signs, over 200 of them, are kept. The tour is inexpensive at just $19 for adults, $15 ages 7 – 17 and children 6 and under are free. Tours are day and night and reservations must be made in advance.
