Susan Marilyn Block, Ph.D., better known as “Dr. Suzy,” is a sexologist, sex therapist, author, cultural commentator, and Yale graduate whose work has spanned more than 45 years. Throughout her career, she has hosted The Dr. Susan Block Show in its various forms and gained international recognition through a series of HBO specials that contributed to public discussions about sexuality, relationships, pleasure, awareness, and human connection.

Founded by Dr. Suzy in 1991, the Susan Block Institute was created to help individuals improve communication, relationships, sexuality, personal freedom, and conflict resolution through both counseling services and educational outreach.

The Institute offers private counseling and sex therapy for individuals and couples seeking support with intimacy, relationships, pleasure, and personal development.

In addition to its counseling work, the Institute has produced a wide range of educational and entertainment programming for television, radio, and online audiences. Productions include The Dr. Susan Block Show, Radio Sex TV with Dr. Susan Block on HBO, FDR Radio, Bedside Chats, Sex Calls, Real Calls, Travels with Max, and Dr. Suzy’s Speakeasy. Many of these projects were co-produced by Dr. Block’s late husband, Maximillian Lobkowicz.

The Institute has also published several books, including The Bonobo Way: The Evolution of Peace through Pleasure, The 10 Commandments of Pleasure: Erotic Keys to a Healthy, Sexual Life, and Advertising for Love: How to Play the Personals. Dr. Block has spoken at universities, conferences, and cultural events around the world. The organization has also produced broadcasts, videos, audio recordings, magazines, articles, interviews, photography, music, artwork, and digital media exploring topics related to sexuality, relationships, peace, free speech, politics, art, and culture.
