A few weeks ago, I shared one of my ways to relax with you. That is by taking virtual trains trips with a front cab view so that I see everything the engineer does during the ride. It is an incredible way to just sit back relax and ride the train virtually anywhere in the world. The last time I took you to Germany, France and Spain with some awesome photos from each trip. Thank you for the great responses.

This week we go to Italy and take a little over an hour trip from La Spezia to Recco in the Liguria region of Italy and mostly along the coast as you can see on the map in the second photo. The first photo is the train we are on. As you will notice,90% of all trains throughout Europe are electrified, no steam no diesel. They find this method less expensive and also good for the environment.

A little bit about La Spezia…………La Spezia is the second-largest city in the Liguria region with a population of almost 95,000. It is located on the Ligurian Sea and is one of the main Italian military and commercial harbors. It is also a major Italian Navy base. In addition, it is a popular seaside resort and favorite tourist destination, notable for its museums, for the Palio del Golfo rowing race and restaurants.

As you could see from the photos along the way, lots of mountain areas, tunnels, nice coastline views and apartments, apartments and more apartments. The majority of them lack modern conveniences like air conditioning and washers and dryers. While there are a few modern touches, the majority of the area is in a time warp. If you’d like to take this trip yourself, just go to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HxWd7rnUFY and enjoy the ride. We’ll be going on another trip soon maybe Norway, maybe Croatia or Hungary or Switzerland, who knows, so stay tuned.
