This past Sunday we had our 31st Annual NightMoves Awards Show at the TNA club in St. Pete with a packed house on hand. It was the culmination of 4 days of meetings, club appearances, Fan Fest, rehearsals and then the big awards show Sunday night. It was exhausting, long hours for everyone with more than 30 adult film stars and feature dancers in town for all the festivities that were scheduled over the four days.
Once the awards show was over there was the big After Party at 4-Play across the road and that raucous event went on until the wee hours. Then back to the hotel in Clearwater for a little sleep before everyone got set to either drive or fly out and head west for most everyone who was here. So, it was to the airport Monday morning, say good byes until next year and formally put #31 in the books. Just think, in twelve months we get to do it all over again with # 32!
Now that our awards show for this year is history, I am reflecting back and realize several things…..1. When we did our very first show in 1993, some of the stars at this year’s show weren’t even born yet!!…..2. Along with Paul, Tracy and our staff over the years we have seen the evolution not only of NightMoves Magazine and our show, but the adult industry and our valued and important place in it…….3. Being in the adult business since 1991, (we actually began in 1988) when the very first NightMoves Magazine was published, I have been truly blessed to work with a great friend, brother, confidante, buddy and sports junkie like me, Paul Allen, along with Tracy and the rest of the crew that have come and gone over the years……4. Most of all I have been honored to have met so many great people in this industry who are not only performers, directors, dancers, writers, etc., but good friends who have become an important part of my life. I have also been honored to be inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame…….5. Finally, to my late wife Flo and my loving life partner Carole, I couldn’t have done it all without you both by my side through the ups and downs and thick and thin we have gone through all these years.
It is all of the above that has kept me young at heart, kept me active and kept eagerly awaiting the next day and what adventures lie ahead. I thank you all, our readers, FB and NightMoves posters and friends for being a part of my life. I love you all from the bottom of my heart. Now let’s start working on #32!
