Amid all the hype and coverage the mainstream film got, this Brad Armstrong production got just as much attention and maybe even more. It was the perfect vehicle for Armstrong to sink his teeth into considering that the mainstream versions have garnered such a wide audience, so why not make a porn parody for the ladies? With a standout cast who deliver some spot on, incredible performances throughout, this film has everything, and more, that one could expect from someone of Brad Armstrong’s stature as a director.
This is one of those rare films where I really don’t want to give anything away about the movie because it is so damn good and so damn exciting that giving you worded descriptions of scenes would take away from your overall enjoyment of it. I will say this, as I watched it and making notes for this review, Carole was watching it with me and totally turned on by the guys both on stage and in the bedroom! Fact is when I finished, and because I was doing a lot of “stop and start” so I could make notes, she watched the DVD a little later by herself uninterrupted. You can guess what it led to after I got home.
Right from the start you can see this film will be something very special as the characters emerge. Among them are Derrick Pierce as Mike who you see in the opening credits in his workshop working his dance moves. There is Ryan McLane as Dallas, Tommy Gunn as Big Dick Richie, Ryan Driller as Ken, Dick Chibbles as Tarzan, Seth Gamble as The Kid, and Tony Martinez as Tito. As much as I was disappointed in Derrick’s Lex Luthor role in “Batman vs, Superman XXX”, I was very impressed with his role as Mike. It was totally realistic, powerful and loaded with energy as he channeled the Channing Tatum character. Ryan McLane as Dallas was exceptional (Matthew who?) and the rest of the guys were perfect fits for their roles. Not only were they good at delivering some very well written dialogue, but damn, these guys can dance up a storm. The music used is perfect and works into the scenes and dance routines exceptionally well and in a very natural way. Watching these guys evolve from their everyday personas to these sexy dancers was exceptionally crafted. Of course when it comes to the nine sex scenes in this parody the guys are no shrinking violets and neither are the ladies as they all pack plenty of sizzle in them.
As for the females in the cast, once again Armstrong hit the jackpot assembling some of the hottest, sexiest girls in porn to play their roles and did they ever. The girls were all very natural, believable, sexy and delivered big time as the horny patrons with some great throw away looks, lines and sounds. When it came to the sex scenes, they went at it with full abandon just like some horny ladies may want to do on a night out with the girls, but rarely do. The sequences in the Club XXXL were so well done with the lighting, staging, etc. that you will feel like this isn’t a movie, but a real club, with real people, not actors, in Anytown, USA where the ladies go to enjoy a night out. Some of the dance sequences are as good or better than some of the male shows that are on the circuit.
What makes this film even better is that it was very obvious that the entire cast was genuinely having fun doing this parody. Granted it was a lot of hard work to learn dialogue, dance moves, choreography, staging, getting in character, etc. but the genuine fun they had putting this all together comes through loud and clear from the first frame to the last in this extraordinary production. Yes, it was made for and geared to all the female porn lovers, but it is also a parody you guys are going to enjoy as well, especially watching it with your significant other. This will be a heavy nominee in a variety of categories when the AVN’s roll around. If you have seen the mainstream versions, then seeing Brad Armstrong’s “Magic Mike XXXL A Hardcore Parody” our “Friday 5 Star Feature” definitely needs to go on your must watch list.
