Dear Adult Industry Professional,
As many of you know, our First Amendment rights were recently taken away by the City of Dallas when they voted to ban our 2016 event planned to return May 20-22 at the city-owned Dallas Convention Center. Of course this was a total shock to us, especially considering we had produced a very successful show, without incident, at the same exact venue in August 2015. We are currently seeking a federal injunction to win our May 2016 dates back. We have a very strong case and are confident we will be able to move forward with EXXXOTICA Dallas, however we must wait on a final ruling by a federal judge to confirm this. We expect to have the injunction no later than Friday, April 1, though there are no guarantees. With the timing of our Dallas event and the other three EXXXOTICA events approaching we must move forward. Exhibit and sponsorship sales for all of our 2016 events, including our proposed show in Dallas are now open. Whether you are a long-time exhibitor or sponsor of the event, or if you have never participated before, our hope is that this year you choose to join us at any or all of our 2016 events, especially EXXXOTICA Dallas. Of course we recognize and understand that you cannot commit your hard-earned money to exhibiting or sponsoring an event that is currently up in the air. With this in mind, we are waiving any deposits due in advance for exhibit space and/or sponsorship until after the federal injunction is decided and EXXXOTICA Dallas is approved. We are also allowing all committed companies to reconsider their level of involvement once the injunction is granted or denied. We have included an addendum to our application and contract paperwork for Dallas that states this, so you can be confident when signing up that you will not be bound by the financial commitment in the event of an unsuccessful ruling. YOUR SUPPORT FOR FREE SPEECH IS CRUCIAL. We are fighting this fight so that hopefully you never have to. Together we can make sure that elected officials understand they do not have the right to force their own moral beliefs on those they were elected to represent. If this unconstitutional ban is upheld, we will show the courts not only how much this affects the public, but members of the adult entertainment industry as well. Please consider pledging your support today and together we can continue to celebrate sex and the right to free speech, the way EXXXOTICA has always strived to do. |
Sincerely, |
