As Wright’s film begins, busy professionals Olivia (Skye Blue) and her brother Andrei (Dante Colle) haven’t had much opportunity to see each other since their parents passed away. Fortunately, the preparations for her impending wedding are the perfect excuse for them to finally get together. However, it quickly becomes evident that everything is not going to go as well as Olivia would have liked. Her brother has decided to come with Naomi (Ana Foxxx), his new girlfriend. At first a little distant, the two young women will end up getting closer…
As the ladies grow more intimate, infidelities are revealed, and Olivia makes the only decision that really matters…to take back control of her life.
The sensual couplings and triads that unfold for Foxxx and Blue are all shot by Wright to emphasize passion and longing. The women’s own twenty-two minute tryst is made all the more palpable by the very real intimacy of their nuanced performerances and revelatory dialogue, giving the scene – like the rest of the film – an emotional arc reminicent of the Black Mirror‘s searingly emotional “San Junipero.”
