A deliciously erotic take on director David Ayer’s genre-bending hit starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Jared Leto, Suicide Squad XXX won the top prize in its field – Best Parody – before sweeping virtually every other related category, including a coveted Best Director-Parody statue for Braun and a Best Actress trophy in recognition of Kleio Valentien’s brilliant portrayal of Harley Quinn (she won AVN’s 2016 Best Supporting Actress award for her performance as the character in Batman v Superman XXX, also from Braun and Wicked Comix). Other wins included Best Art Direction, Best Makeup (Cammy Ellis and May Kup), Best Non-Sex Performance (Nyomi Banxxx), Best Screenplay (Axel Braun), and Best Three-Way Sex Scene Boy/Boy/Girl (Kleio Valentien, Tommy Pistol and Charles Dera).
Other Braun projects to take home statues during the course of the evening included Asa Goes to Hell, which earned Wicked Girl (and Suicide Squad XXX co-star) Asa Akira a Best Solo/Tease Performance trophy, and Supergirl XXX: An Axel Braun Parody, which earned the award for Best Special Effects.
To call Suicide Squad XXX’s awards sweep a record-breaker is no idle boast. For the director, the 2017 AVN Awards Show marked his seventh consecutive year winning Best Parody and his third consecutive year winning Movie of the Year (the 2015 and 2016 winners were 24 XXX and Peter Pan XXX, respectively). And not only is Braun the most awarded director in AVN history, Suicide Squad XXX has surpassed even his own mega-hit Star Wars XXX to become the most AVN-awarded parody ever.
