I am reposting this review at the request of several people as all of the reviews have been lost when the new AAN site was put together recently. Fortunately I have a record of just about all of my reviews and blogs, so here is the original review.
Wicked Sex – Plus Size – Wicked Pictures – Director – jessica drake – Cast Devlyn Red, Dick Chibbles, Kelly Shibari, Derrick Pierce, Angel De Luca, Scarlet Lavey.
The highly acclaimed and award winning series continues, this time touching on a subject that has been kept quiet for too long. Creator and host of the series, jessica drake, got together with the leading advocate in the plus size sexual arena, Kelly Shibari. Together they co created this much needed, much anticipated DVD about sex and women who are plus sized. Ms. Shibari also is featured in one of the four sexual scenes that take place among the discussions with the couples who participated in this venture. I will have my own personal comments at the end of this feature.
It opens with Jessica and Kelly explaining what you are about to see, hear and witness. We then get to hear from several couples that are of plus size, just everyday people. But they all have one thing in common, the issue of self confidence and how much personality plays into a relationship. The talks are very open and honest about themselves, their sexuality, what they like, don’t like and various life issues that may have been part of their weight gain. But with a film like this and plus size becoming more and more common in society, the hope is to gain a whole new perspective and sexuality through a film like this. We also get to hear from Ms. Shibari and what she went through growing up in Japan and being plus sized as a youngster and how she changed her outlook through her size.
The couples reveal, sometimes with humor, all the nasty things they would hear or names they would be called or insults thrown their way. It is a sure way to have low self esteem and a lack of confidence for many plus size women, and men, but these couples have found ways to battle the negatives and turn them into positives. Kelly explains that there are simple exercises that couples can do with each other, not physical exercises but verbal such as telling your partner a few things that you truly like about them and we see how that plays out with the couples, and works. Kelly also mentions other exercises you can use like a word game that can open many thoughts about each other. It also shows what words can be comfortable or uncomfortable for the person depending on how it’s said and the context.
Next Kelly explains about the body of a plus size woman and how she can feel better about by exploring it herself and we see, not in a sexual way, but sensual way how that can be accomplished. Then as Kelly explains more we see the woman’s partner come in and explore her body, again sensually, not sexually, but it all adds to a turn on and a feeling of confidence. From there Kelly talks about positions that work well for people of size and we some demonstrations of these. Kelly ends it with some advice about trying new things and for those that may be fetish minded what to look for or ho9w to find workshops, etc. In all it is a very informative for everyone. After the credits role there are three full sex scenes with Kelly’s commentary that show just how enjoyable, fun and hot sex plus size can be. Kelly does a great job to put the viewer at ease with her commentary, thoughts, ideas and presence. I strongly recommend “Guide to Wicked Sex: Plus Size” to anyone of size who has had the concerns these people have had and were able to overcome and enjoy great sex lives with their partner.
On a personal note, I had Carole watch this first, as she is somewhat plus sized. She did find the DVD extremely helpful in many ways and could relate to the problems the different couples had because of size. For Carole, getting in the lifestyle with me was a big confidence booster for her. For others it will be in the ways that Kelly so eloquently and openly suggests.
Kudos and thank you both jessica and Kelly for bringing forth an educational, informative, fun and sexy production that is has been long overdue and should be viewed by anyone of size or not.
