With all the buzz building up to Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” debut, the gorgeous dancers at upscale gentlemen’s club Rick’s Cabaret New York were curious and tuned in. They shared their thoughts on Colbert’s first night.
“Everybody knows that Rick’s Cabaret is popular with celebrities, including many comedians, like some of the Saturday Night Live cast and certain late night hosts,” explained Rick’s Cabaret Girl Tempest. “I can’t say their names because we respect everyone’s privacy. Anyway, some of us girls were hanging out with a bunch of Wall Street Guys in the club’s super exclusive Crystal Room. We watched Colbert on a large-screen TV. I thought he was awesome.”
Not everyone agreed. The reaction was decidedly mixed.
**** “I loved when Colbert danced during his monologue. He looked so adorable.” — Rick’s Cabaret Girl Emma
**** “The show was only moderately funny. I was amazed that the audience seemed to love every second of it. They must have been given laughing gas.” — Rick’s Cabaret Girl Katherine
**** “Gimme a break. He did a joke about Trump’s hair? Oh, how original!” — Rick’s Cabaret Girl Kimmie
**** “Hey, it was his first show. There were some good things and some bad things. Let’s give him some time.” — Rick’s Cabaret Girl Gabriella
“Some of the Wall Street guys got bored watching the show,” said Rick’s Cabaret Girl Kelly. “But we snapped them out of it by stripping off our clothes. Now that always gets ratings!”
