For the most part we always feature brand new girls, or girls that are on the rise. This week we are extremely happy to present one of the true icons and legends of the adult industry as our “Girl of the Week”, the incredible Julia Ann.

A true California girl Julia was born October 8, 1969, which coincidently was the date my late wife Flo and I got married. She was born in Glendale, an upscale community that is suburb of Los Angeles. Julia Ann is quarter Italian, with her grandfather’s family hailing from Torino. She grew up around animals developing a love for horses, took piano lessons and can swim “like a fish.” At age 12 she moved to Idyllwild, California and went to a college-prep school before moving to Los Angeles to live with her grandmother at age 17.

Then at the age of 18 the rather tall (5’ 8”) Julia had begun a career in modeling and that would soon morph into a career in professional mud wrestling. After that she teamed up with Janine Lindemuller and they formed the very successful strip act Blondage that was a big hit in clubs everywhere. It was this act that led Julia into the adult film industry.

Julia Ann made her adult film debut in 1992 for Andrew Blake’s  film “Hidden Obsessions”. In the film Julia Ann does a lesbian scene with Janine and that kicked off what would become a long, successful and ongoing career. She signed on with Vivid, as did Janine and became one of the heralded “Vivid Girls” during the company’s hey day. She did scenes on her own but also with Janine as the Blondage duo. She would also become a contract performer for Digital Playground and on two separate occasions, 2002 and 2006 for Wicked Pictures.

Since that debut Julia Ann has appeared in over 300 adult films spanning the years with a variety of roles from  the young sexy blonde to the very mature, hot sexy woman. She has done just about every kind of genre men, women, interracial, threesomes and more. Through it all Julia has been the total and consummate pro on and off the set and been a mentor to a number of young starlets.  She says she rarely watches any of her own films because she is her own worst critic. As a film critic I can tell you I enjoy watching Julia Ann work because it is the real deal, very professional and always on the mark. She has also appeared on Playboy TV and radio as well as Vivid Radio as a show host.

With over 300 films and a many awards Julia Ann looks absolutely fantastic and has no thoughts of slowing down, which is great news for her fans. As for the awards, she has won close to 20 of them from AVN, XRCO, XBIZ and NightMoves combined and for everything from Best Girl/Girl to Best Actress to Best MILF performer of the Year and a lot more. She is also a worthy member of both the AVN and XRCO Halls of Fame.
