LOS ANGELES, CA / LAS VEGAS, NV – (February 3, 2017) – Adult industry powerhouse Wicked Pictures is pleased to announce veteran blockbuster creator Brad Armstrong’s Editor’s Choice feature The Preacher’s Daughter was crowned 2017’s Best Drama at the 2017 Adult Video News Awards.
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino’s famed music venue The Joint provided an ideal backdrop for the star-studded awards gala, which saw Armstrong giving a moving acceptance speech in which he thanked his cast, crew, Wicked Pictures President Steve Orenstein and Wicked Girl jessica drake for their support and encouragement.
The film earned awards throughout the evening, with Armstrong returning to the stage to accept AVN’s Best Supporting Actor trophy for his performance as the titular “man of the cloth.” In another testament to the film’s quality, Xander Corvus earned AVN’s coveted Best Actor award for his fine work as the small town rebel who sets Armstrong’s intimate and suspenseful story into motion.
AVN Magazine has been championing these dynamic performances for months, with critic Iris Block noting in her original AAAAA Editor’s Choice review, “Armstrong wrote the screenplay with Corvus in mind, and the part fits the young man well. Billy effortlessly seduces Marissa [Mia Malkova] in a pastoral outdoor picnic scene, showing a sweet side that contrasts with what he presents to the rest of the world. The preacher [Armstrong] doesn’t want the town bad boy anywhere near his daughter—and his obsession with Billy leads him far from his calling as a man of God. Both actors seem to be having a lot of fun with these characters—Corvus as a smart-aleck tough guy and Armstrong a moralizing hypocrite—and they’re a pleasure to watch!”
For his part, Wicked’s Orenstein couldn’t be more pleased with the film, which expertly blends dramatic storytelling, compelling performances and passionate sex with some of the controversial themes of the director’s earlier multiple award-winning classic Falling From Grace. “Brad has done it again. He’s been exclusive with Wicked for two decades and has won more awards than we can count over that time for his stand out movies. The Preacher’s Daughter was a great story with fantastic acting that didn’t fit the usual mold. We thank AVN’s reviewers for recognizing it, and encourage everyone to keep an eye out for what Brad has coming next.”
Upcoming projects for the maverick filmmaker include Ethnicity, a two-disc dramatic feature blending intriguing storytelling with passionate, meaningful sex. Written and directed by Armstrong, Ethnicity examines a diverse group of people as they navigate the ups and downs of urban life until the fateful night their destinies collide.

About The Preacher’s Daughter The focus of Brad Armstrong’s latest award-winning Editor’s Choice blockbuster is Marissa (Mia Malkova), the 19 year-old daughter of a small town preacher. She has always been “Daddy’s little girl” and never gotten into trouble…that is until she meets Billy (Xander Corvus) the town’s bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Before long, the two become lovers, but Marissa’s perfect world is turned upside down as her mother (Alexis Fawx) and father (Armstrong) forbid her from seeing Billy, saying he’s a heathen who’ll ruin her life. But the more they try to drive the two young lovers apart, the stronger their bond grows. The situation finally comes to a boiling point and the family issues an ultimatum – either never see Billy again or they’ll turn their backs on her forever. Now it’s up to Marissa…Will she come back to her family and church, or will she risk everything to be with the man she loves?
