The veteran performer opens up about her beginnings in the business through a Craigslist ad, her first and favorite films, the porn stars she met through her tanning salon job and how crippling anxiety led to a drug addiction that she kicked with the help and motivation of her satisfying work on adult film sets.
“I think I’m just in the best place I’ve been mentally in my entire career, and before, kind of showing my personality gave me a lot of anxiety, and I did a lot of drugs because of it. I think now that I’m more comfortable in my own skin that it’s time to show you guys… me!” she told Randall.
“It was an escapism thing, for sure. I did not want to be in my reality, I didn’t want to face the actual problems I was going through… drugs weren’t fun for me… I did them because I had to; I had to get through the day… I think porn was more of an outlet for me than anything.”
When she finally quit, she walked away without looking back. “Once I just made the decision, that was it for me. I didn’t want it anymore, I didn’t want to be this person anymore, I didn’t want to need anything to just be able to function through the day anymore. Once I made that choice, it was pretty easy for me.”
These days, White says her addictive personality manifests itself in other, more positive ways: “I’m a perfectionist when it comes to my work… it’s come out a lot in just the way I present myself on set, from hearing people talk about how I used to be… I want to set a good impression, I want to be the best performer I can, and so I put a lot of pressure on myself.”
