(Hollywood, CA) Will Ryder has won the 2018 AVN Award for Best Screenplay for his Adam & Eve Pictures movie Bad Babes Inc. at a regal gala that took place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Saturday night in Las Vegas.
“I pride myself on my writing and storytelling so this AVN trophy will sit proudly on my piano,” remarked the still presentable but gracefully aging director.
Executives from Adam & Eve including Bob Christian and Rachel V were happy to see his writing effort rewarded with a beautiful gold trophy and toasted Ryder and his production partner Scott David with a bottle of Champagne.
“It this trophy really gold?”, Ryder joked before toasting his group. Although joy was in the air, it was obvious there was some disappointment that Bad Babes Inc. didn’t win for Best Comedy which was something Ryder fully expected.
“We won at Nightmoves and at XBiz,” he offered. “So you go into these things feeling pretty confident and come out a bit bruised on the other end,” Ryder added. “It’s not easy to win AVN Awards so you appreciate when you do and I’m happy with AVN Best Screenplay because I’ve been working very hard on my writing.”
With numerous AVN Awards that his movies have collected over the years, this is the first time Ryder has won for Best Screenplay. The trophy joins others Ryder has won in previous years including AVN awards for Best Director, Best Parody, Best Music Soundtrack, Best Marketing, Director of the Year, and the coveted AVN Hall of Fame honor.
“I put the script, acting performances and especially the production quality of Bad Babes Inc. up against any adult movie made this past year and we will remain pretty high on that list,” offered Scott David. “Remove the sex and it looks and sounds like something that should be on Netflix.”
“Thank you to AVN for validating my writing efforts with this beautiful trophy,” Ryder continued. “Years earlier when I won my very first AVN award, Hillary Scott was not impressed with my excitement and attempted to insert the trophy into her vagina,” Ryder admitted. “Those older trophies were acrylic and rectangular so that memory still haunts me each January.”
