Samantha Fox WATN 2

She was born Stasia Therese Angela Micula on December 3, 1951 in New York City and regardless of where she made her home she has always remained a Big Apple girl. Growing up in the city Samantha began a love affair with dance as a pre teen, continued to study and became a very accomplished jazz and ballet dancer. After graduating from high school, she danced with various troupes in New York and was doing okay. She had always been a very sexual female from a young age and the petite 5′ 1″ Samantha always had that winning combination of innocence and lust that worked well for her.

She was co hosting a late night TV show in New York when porn director Chuck Vincent saw her and asked to meet with her. When he saw Samantha in person, he offered her a part in his new film “Bad Penny”. With the money she’d be paid, which was considerably more than she was making as a dancer, she agreed. She made it very clear that this was strictly a one time thing and no more. However, there was a big problem, but a good one. Her performance was so good, so real and held nothing back sexually and she truly enjoyed it. So much for this being just a one shot.

That film would open up a whole new career path for her and she quickly developed a very big fan base. Making her appearances in front of the camera even more realistic was the fact that Samantha displayed some very serious acting chops and was able to deliver lines of dialogue in her various roles in very convincing and believable fashion. From that auspicious beginning, Samantha would go on to make about 100 films during her time in front of the camera. Among her big films were “Jack n’ Jill Pt. 1” which got Ms. Fox the Erotica Award in 1979 and a very explosive role in “The Lady Is A Tramp”, which gave the sexy brunette another Erotica Award in 1980. In 1982 she gave what many have thought of as her most riveting dramatic role in the film “Roommates”. The role earned her a very well deserved Best Actress Award, an award she would win twice. Among her other films was the now classic “Amanda By Night”.

The new popularity of the VCR in the 80′s took away Samantha’s stardom as did for several others. As adult videos popularity grew larger and larger the market had changed quite a bit, especially in the area of female talent where a whole new look was starting to take over. . Samantha’s slim, natural body was not as favored now as many girls were now getting the implants to give them bigger, fuller boobs. While she could have gone that route her personal integrity about her natural body would not allow for becoming part of the body enhancement fad that would become a big part of the 80’s porn scene.

While enjoying her time as an adult star she had also begun a very serious relationship with popular male porn star Bobby Astyr. Though they never married, they were together in a very solid relationship until his untimely death from cancer in 2002. After Mr. Astyr’s passing people knew she was still in New York but she just divorced herself from the industry. Samantha rarely stayed in contact with film friends and took on a new path in life. Coincidently, also in 2002, Ms. Fox was recognized for her many contributions to the adult film industry and was elected to the AVN Hall of Fame, an honor that is very well deserved. For whatever reason, XRCO has never honored Ms. Fox with the same their Hall of Fame award and recognition, a gross oversight on their part.
