The Queen of Sequels
She was born on May 24, 1963 as Sondra Stillman in Los Angeles. However, most of her growing up years took place in Boston, Mass., a far cry from the California way of life and weather. After graduating from school the 5’6”, 36B-26-35 beauty began her career by modeling for men’s magazines. Believe it or not, it was her mother who actually wrote the letter pitching her daughter to model in the magazines. Mom’s letters must have been spot on because Sondra started to garner a lot of photo shoots and appearing in a number of men’s magazines showing off her wonderful charms. But that was just the beginning.
From modeling Sondra was asked to do a couple of adult films and appeared in a couple of Svetlana’s Hawaiian Beach films as one of the many horny babes rolling around in the sun getting a tan between getting laid by some stud. At the time she was billed under her real name. In her very first film, “Surrender in Paradise” she only did a girl/girl scene, but that was more than enough to realize she had what it took to be a star. So from Svetlana, the offers began to come her way for a variety of porn films.
She began to gain some very good notices as the lead in the first Dark Bros. film, “Let Me Tell Ya ‘Bout White Chicks”. However, she created a small problem when she failed to show up on day two of the shoot so the script was changed from a narrative story to an episodic video. By now she had also changed her name to Lois Ayres and would go on to star in “The Devil In Miss Jones 3 & 4”, a couple of Dark Bros. classics, as well as “Every Woman Has a Fantasy 2” She also became known as the queen of the sequels during that time.
Her first boy-girl scene was with the legend, Ron Jeremy, who got most of the newbies back then. It was also common for Ms. Ayres to specialize in interracial sex scenes in films like “The Queen of Spades” when other girls wouldn’t do them back then. Because of that hang up with some girls, Lois was able to garner a lot of interracial work. She readily admitted her first sex scenes weren’t good because her mind was on other things, mainly the money she was making. Once she learned how to relax in front of the camera she became as explosive a female on screen as there was. With Lois Ayres her co stars quickly found out it was all totally real as she gave and took with a raw, full enthusiasm making her partners give even more and making those scenes very special.
Between 1983 and 1996 Ms. Ayres did about 270 films establishing a solid name for herself as either the star or co star. Her acting skills were average, but it was her so called white-trash appearance that was more than just a screen persona. She was a total street nymph who delighted in having sex with the rockers of the dayas one of the hot to trot groupies.
With a life centered around the adult film industry, the sex and rock and roll, Lois found herself burdened with a serious drug problem and no one but herself to blame. So, needed to get straight in1989 she called it quits to get help the help she needed and recover. Cleaned up, she returned a couple of years later but things had changed in adult films during that time away. So she gave up doing movies and in the 1990’s went out on the stripper circuit overseas and went on to make quite a name for herself in Japan and other foreign destinations with her very professional and very sexy feature shows.
At last report a couple of years ago it was said that Ms. Ayres, who would be 53 now, was living in Athens, Greece as well having a home in Los Angeles and is has maintained being sober and clean. Her contributions to the industry were well noted and recognized when she was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2009. What she is doing today in 2016 is not known. However, several years back she reportedly was studying to get her certificate to teach English and work at casting female performers for a company in Italy or to learn the art of the strip tease.
Regardless, this eye catching platinum blonde will remain on of the ’80’s bright lights. Many of her films can now be viewed in DVD form. In addition she can also be seen in a number of Swedish Erotica compilations that have shown up in the past few years.
