One of Porn’s True Beauties

She was born Dana Kunath on June 28, 1959 in Huntington Beach, California, which is where she was raised and went to school. However, in her teen years, she really began to blossom and her natural beauty became a big advantage especially after she finished school. Raven haired, beautiful natural 38DD breasts, a sensual look with eyes that would have melted the iceberg the Titantic slammed into, a provocative smile and very tall (5’ 10”) with long legs, she was quite a stunning picture.

Dana proved not all California girls were blondes with blue eyes. Having all those qualities in one sexy package, she began to do pinup and nude modeling for a variety of magazines. It didn’t take long for her to get a lot of reaction as one of the most beautiful women in the magazines. That popularity led to her doing some Swedish Erotica shorts in 1980-81, but it would only be the beginning.

She got quickly noticed in these film shorts not only for her beauty, but also for her all out, enthusiastic sexuality. That would lead to the name change of  Bridgette Monet and her first starring role in the 1982 porn classic “I Like to Watch”. While her acting skills were not the greatest, her looks, incredible body and all out penchant for steamy, hot sex more than made up for it. She did most of her boy/girl scenes with boyfriend Dave Cannon and there was no mistaking the nuclear reaction that took place when these two were in front of the camera. Bridgette also got her first taste of girl/girl sex with Lisa De Leeuw in “I Like to Watch”. At the time it was called, and still by some today, as the hottest girl/girl scene on film.

The exposure in that film created an immediate popularity bringing about a string of great films like “Talk Dirty To Me”, “Letters of Love”, “Bodacious Ta Ta’s” and one of the very first all girl films “Girls That Love Girls” with Lisa De Leeuw, Little Oral Annie and Bunny Bleu among the ladies enjoying the pleasures of another woman. Once again Bridgette’s performance in that film proved that when it came to sex, man or woman, Bridgette was hard to top, or better yet, stop.

In her career Ms. Monet did only about 80 films, but she left an indelible mark on the industry. She also did a big nude spread for Playboy in 1984 as “Dana Cannon the Porn Princess”. Her star had risen to the top and as we mentioned, not the best when it came to dialogue and acting, her smoldering sexual performances and looks totally overshadowed her lack of acting skills. She was considered a class act, liked by everyone, a total pro on the set never creating problems. She left the business in 1986, but would make an occasional return. In 1989 she made her final film, “Shame on Shanna” with Ona Zee, Shanna McCullough, John Leslie and Ron Jeremy. After the film was finished, Ms. Monet left the industry altogether at the age of 30 and never looked back.

After departing from the porn scene Ms. Monet reverted back to her given birth name and returned to college. She was studying medicine and was hoping to get into the sports medicine field. At last reports, and now 57, she was said to be living in the San Diego area, doing well and raising a family. While inclusion into the AVN and XRCO Halls of Fame has eluded Ms. Monet thus far, many of her performances are true classics. Hopefully these organizations will recognize Ms. Monet in the future. Many of  this sexy lady’s films have been re mastered on DVD form including a few in the Swedish Erotica and Blue Vanity series.
