JANUARY 25, 2016 — New Sensations’ acclaimed erotic feature “The Submission of Emma Marx: Boundaries” was named Best BDSM Movie at the 2016 AVN Awards. The chart-topping sequel to the 2013 blockbuster and AVN award-winning original (Best BDSM Movie, 2014) also earned Best Actress honors for leading lady Penny Pax and a Best Screenplay win for writer and director Jacky St. James.

“The Submission of Emma Marx: Boundaries” released in February of last year and continued the enthralling tale of a young and independent woman (Pax) attempting to navigate what was once an inconceivable BDSM relationship with a man (Richie Calhoun) who demands her complete sexual submission and emotional trust. The story comes to an end this year when “The Submission of Emma Marx: Exposed” releases on Feb. 8.

“I was hoping so much that Penny would bring home an acting win. As a director, an acting win is just as meaningful. Penny has given so much to this character over the years and watching her get recognized for her talent was especially a joy,” Jacky St. James said. “Eddie [Powell] and I were thrilled that our collaborations were recognized in so many categories this year. Writing is one of the great loves of my life. To be awarded for doing what I love already is just an added bonus.”

Digital Sin’s provocative vignette series “Tabu Tales” took home Best Taboo Relations Movie for its kinky, erotic family drama, “The Father Figure.” The award marks “Tabu Tales” second consecutive win in the two-year-old category. “Tabu Tales” was named Best New Series by AVN in 2015.

“It’s always rewarding to see our movies connect with an audience in the way the ‘Emma’ films and our scripted series have,” said Scott Taylor, President of New Sensations/Digital Sin. “We’ve had an exceptional year and AVN’s support and acknowledgement is very much appreciated as we get 2016 underway.”
