( HOLLYWOOD, CA ) – Former adult fetish performer and pro-domme Soma Snakeoil AKA Goddess_Soma has always been most at home when at her busiest. The writer, educator and multimedia artist continues to keep schedule packed with a variety of projects and expressing herself artistically. In keeping with this spirit, Soma has been invited to participate in next month’s Punk Rock & Paintbrushes 2017 Holiday Show.

“I am honored to be included in this event,” says Soma. “I have known Emily Treasure of Punk Rock & Paintbrushes since we worked together on a Rock V Cancer event and we have collaborated several times since then. She is one of my favorite people. Emily’s the kind of person you want by your side if you’re going to scale the side of a building or dance in heels in the rain. ”

Punk Rock and Paintbrushes will be a spectacular evening of creativity and charity which will include a red carpet, special guest DJ, art, music and a raffle. The event will take place on December 15th in Los Angeles. More than just a great time and fine art, Punk Rock and Paintbrushes will benefit Alexandria House, a safe shelter for women and children.

“I am very thrilled and honored to have Soma as part of Punk Rock & Paintbrushes,” says Emily. “I feel grateful to work with her on other projects and her passion is incredible. It is so gratifying to see such talented people coming together to create art and help others. Soma is an integral part of our art show”

Punk Rock and Paintbrushes is a celebration of fine art contributed by musicians, artists and performers including Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio & Blink 182, Chali 2NA of Jurassic 5, Warren Fitzgerald of The Vandals, Hunter Burgan of AFI, Jesse Hughes of Eagles of Death Metal, Matt Hensley of Flogging Molly, Jennie Cotterill of Bad Cop Bad Cop, Steve Caballero, Natalia Fabia, Hunter Freese, Paul Kobriger, Danny Greene & Soma Snakeoil.

“I look at the roster of artists and I have to shake my head a bit and wonder what I’m doing on this bill,” jokes Soma. “There are some truly amazing artists. It is inspiring to see such talented people sharing their creativity and giving of themselves. I think it’s up to me to bring the first part of the adage, The Filth and the Fury…”

Self-deprecation aside, Soma has a long history of philanthropy and involvement in the punk rock scene. She has worked with a number of charitable organizations dealing with cancer research and the homeless. Her punk rock projects have ranged from running infamous locale, The Vegas Punk House to her experience as co-writer on the punk rock musical Home Street Home.

Soma has created multiple original pieces for Punk Rock and Paintbrushes. They are paintings inspired by her feelings about the current state of the world.

“The world is untenable and frightening today,” adds Soma. “Everything is unstable. I have been through a number of changes in my personal life of late that left me feeling like I was shaking in a burning world. I wanted to paint women who stand in their power despite their circumstances. It’s an extension of how I choose to live: I want to make_shit and break_shit, with the idea of creating meaningful connected moments of joy as I embrace the beauty in life! Oh, and maybe throw in some dirty panties for good measure…”

Punk Rock & Paintbrushes will occur on Friday December 15th 2017 from 6-11PM at 1499 Artemus Street, Los Angeles 90033.
