Strong Female Characters & Sex-Positive Themes Among Many Reasons New Indie Film Selected by Toronto’s Prestigious Awards Show!

 Marriage 2.0
LOS ANGELES (March 26, 2015) – The groundbreaking independent film “Marriage 2.0” has received a nomination for the Feminist Porn Awards to be held in Toronto, Canada on April 17. Strong female characters and sex-positive story elements and themes are among the reasons “Marriage 2.0” is a nominee for the prestigious awards show honoring diversity and acceptance in adult film.
The 10th anniversary Feminist Porn Awards is part of a series of events produced by Good For Her and scheduled April 15 to 17 at various locations and times. The award categories promoting feminism, empowerment, and equality will be disclosed at the event, which will be held at 7 p.m. at Toronto’s Capitol Event Theatre. Please visit www.FeministPornAwards.com for more information.
“We are very thankful to the organizers of the Feminist Porn Awards for this nomination,” said “Marriage 2.0” screenwriter and producer Magnus Sullivan. “We feel we’ve created a new kind of film, which melds the worlds of adult films with independent filmmaking that tests the definition of mainstream cinema.”
“‘Marriage 2.0’ is an innovative film that explores new ways of imagining marriage,” stated Feminist Porn Awards organizer Carlyle Jansen. “It has great dialogue, is well shot and fun, and ushers in a new era of straight pornography.”

The un-rated version of the film, which received the Best Narrative award at New York’s CineKink Film Festival last month, premiered February 26 on AdamAndEveTV.com, an Adam & Eve property powered by GameLink.com.
“I truly feel as though ‘Marriage 2.0’ is a game-changer for the adult industry,” said cast member Andre Shakti. “While we have these two radically different porn genres currently seeing great success – ‘feminist/indie’ porn and ‘mainstream’ porn – there’s been a tense emphasis on both arenas to compete with and denounce one another rather than to support and draw inspiration from one another. ‘Marriage 2.0’ was intentionally cast with talent who often bridge the genre gap in the industry, doing so in a way that makes us wonder exactly which genre we’re watching. I love that, and I’m thrilled to have been a part of it.”
Also sharing her thoughts on the movie and nomination was author and sex educator Carol Queen, who played Mrs. Peters in the film: “Marriage 2.0 is a deeply sex-positive film, with diverse relationship and sex-styles integral to the plot and believable, complex characters,” she said. “Strongly-drawn women (and everybody else) make this one erotic film that people can not only relate to, but learn from. It proves that porn can be a genre that can really make a difference.”
The Feminist Porn Awards criteria are quality, or films with good production values and performances; inclusiveness, or films that explore diverse expressions of sexuality; the “It” factor, or films with a unique, fresh or compelling perspective; as well as hotness, or beautiful bodies that are well lit and arouse audiences.
The awards are presented every year by Good For Her, the Toronto-based adult retailer dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for adults seeking to learn more about sex and pleasure. It provides sex toys, erotic and educational books on sex as well as DVDs and workshops to further adult sex education.
Produced by LionReach Productions and distributed by Adam & Eve, “Marriage 2.0” features compelling sexual performances from adult stars, demonstrating the depth of human relationships and emotions.
“Marriage 2.0” features performances from adult entertainment stars such as India Summer, Ryan Driller, Dylan Ryan, Nina Hartley, and Mickey Mod, along with appearances from internationally renowned sex and relationship experts, such as Emily Morse and Reid Mihalko. The film follows a couple (India Summer and Ryan Driller) on their search for personal freedom, as well as emotional and sexual bliss within the context of an honest and committed modern relationship.
“Marriage 2.0” delves into the nature of commitment and relationships by weaving hardcore sex into a compelling, touching, and controversial narrative, which ultimately drives a film that challenges the portrayal of sex in cinema.
