TAMPA, Fla. (October 9, 2015) – Girlfriends Films‘ founder Dan O’Connell will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2015 NightMoves Awards. The award will be announced at the show Sunday, where Girlfriends Films contract star Prinzzess Felicity Jade will be on hand to accept it.
“I can’t begin to express how flattered and pleased I am to be receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from NightMoves,” said O’Connell. “I’m a real believer in this industry and always try to honor it in a positive fashion, something that is essential if the sex business is to ever get wide and unprejudiced acceptance.”
O’Connell added, “Thank you so much to Paul and Tracy Allen and Art Koch for all the support NightMoves has given Girlfriends Films over the years. I’ll keep those movies coming and keep up the fight!”
Earlier in the year, O’Connell was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame. He also received XBIZ’s Man of the Year award in 2012.
In addition to the Lifetime Achievement Award for Dan O’Connell, Girlfriends Films received seven nominations in five categories at the NightMoves Awards, including three noms for Best All-Girl Release.
The popular lesbian studio has a rich history of accolades at the annual event, such as the 2012 Best Production Company (Editor’s Choice) award and 2013 Best On-Going Series (Editor’s Choice) for “Women Seeking Women.”
“We’re very honored and thankful to the staff of the 2015 NightMoves Awards,” said Girlfriends Films President Moose. “These nominations are a credit to our amazing creative team and to the talented performers, as well as the fans who have been supporting Girlfriends Films for so many years.”
“Additionally, they couldn’t have chosen a better person for the Lifetime Achievement Award, which looks beyond all the great movies Dan has made and speaks to Dan’s whole body of work in our industry,” added Moose.
The 23rd Annual NightMoves Awards will be held on Sunday, Oct. 11 at the Tampa Gold Club by NightMoves magazine. The event honors the adult industry’s top films, stars, and filmmakers as voted by fans across the country. The award show is part of the four-day NightMoves Awards weekend that includes Fanfest, a VIP party and the Star Caravan, presented in various gentlemen’s clubs in Tampa.

About the NightMoves Awards:
NightMoves® Awards, started in 1993, is the third oldest, continuously running, adult awards show in the United States, trailing only the AVN Awards and the XRCO Awards. 2015 marks the 23rd Annual NightMoves® Show, with adult super-star Ron Jeremy having hosted every single show. The NightMoves® Awards were the first to allow fans to select the winners, making it the original Fan Based Awards, as well as the first awards show to allow on-line voting. The NightMoves® Awards are more than just a one-night awards show; it is a fun-filled, exciting, ultra-busy weekend that includes “Star Caravan” events at local night clubs and multiple radio appearances, in addition to Fan Fest, where stars sign autographs and take photos. The list of stars who won their first-ever award from NightMoves® reads like a who’s-who in the adult entertainment world. Jenna Jameson won her first ever award (Best New Starlet) in 1995; Tera Patrick (2000), Gina Lynn (2002), Jesse Jane (2003), Sunny Lane (2005), Bree Olson (2007), Alexis Texas (2008), and Chanel Preston (2010), are just a few of the names on this prestigious list.
