ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY (January 28, 2016) – Gia Nova’s images by SGH Photo Art are featured in the online site for American science fiction and fantasy comics magazine Heavy Metal. The award-winning burlesque bombshell’s images, and interview, are featured in the iconic publication’s Top News section.

“We found these Boris Vallejo/Heavy Metal-themed pictures of model and performer Gia Nova too good not to share,” writes Heavy Metal. “We also took a little time to get some insight on the inspiration and process from the lady herself. Enjoy!”

“These images were created in collaboration with SGH Photo Art (https://www.facebook.com/sghphotoartfans/),” says Gia. “He does wonderful work, and focuses a lot on superheroes and cosplay. I wanted to do something in the vein of the images I love — artists such as Boris Vallejo, Frank Frazetta, and Olivia de Berardinis. I think it came together better than expected!”

Heavy Metal is known primarily for its blend of dark fantasy / science fiction and erotica.

“I grew up loving fantasy artwork, movies, and Heavy Metal,” continues Gia. “The imagery is certainly some of what influenced me as a performer, artist, and person. Working with SGH Photo Art is always fun, but I think the mind-meld on this project was exceptional!”

About Gia Nova:

Gia Nova began her career in 2007, sneaking into fetish clubs and eventually getting hired as a performer and go-go dancer, where she started dabbling in the world of burlesque. Playboy, Penthouse, Hustler, and Cheri Magazine have all covered a number of her shows, which led to a cameo in Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2. Nova’s burlesque shows have been called Las-Vegas-quality, due to her classical training in belly dance, Middle Eastern and American Tribal dance, as well as in modern dance and hip-hop, which are all incorporated into shows that are more “feature style”. Pumping up the volume, her act has circus-style tricks; her fire show is one of the most requested on the feature circuit. Gia’s aerial silk performances are another unique act she delivers, reminiscent of Cirque du Soleil. The winner of 2012 Overall Feature Entertainer of the Year and 2013 NightMoves Feature Dancer of the Year also crafts her own props and costumes, a skill cultivated from her degree in historical costuming.
